How to Draw Goku as a Vampire in 7 Easy Steps You Can Copy

How to draw Goku like you have never seen him before? Picture the Saiyan hero with pale blue skin, glowing red eyes, and tiny fangs.

I have loved anime and animation since I was a child. So, turning one of my favorite heroes into a vampire was pure fun.

In the video above, I show the whole process. Below, I break it down so you can follow along at your own pace.

Where Does Goku Come From?

Before we draw, let’s talk about the character. Knowing him makes the drawing feel more alive.

  • Goku was created by Akira Toriyama and first appeared in the Dragon Ball manga in 1984.
  • He was born a Saiyan named Kakarot and sent to Earth as a baby.
  • After a bump on the head, he forgot his mission and grew up kind and curious.
  • His story is inspired by Sun Wukong, the Monkey King from the classic tale Journey to the West.
  • The Dragon Ball Z anime began in 1989 and turned him into a worldwide icon.

Why Do People Love Goku So Much?

First, Goku never gives up. He falls, gets back up, and trains harder every single time.

Secondly, he fights to protect the people he loves. He is powerful, but he stays humble and cheerful.

Moreover, his look is unforgettable. Those wild spiky hair shapes make him easy to spot, even as a silhouette.

Therefore, a dbz drawing of him is a great practice. In fact, it teaches shape, movement, and bold line work all at once.

How to Draw Goku as a Vampire Step by Step

Now for the fun part. Let’s learn how you draw Goku with fangs, pointed ears, and a dark red palette.

Step 1: Start With a Simple Circle

Every great drawing begins with a basic shape. Draw a loose circle for the head.

Don’t worry about making it perfect. Messy, light lines are your friend here.

Step 2: Sketch the Face and Angry Eyes

Next, add a center line and an eye line. Then sketch sharp, angled eyebrows for that intense Goku stare.

For the vampire twist, give him a pointed ear. Furthermore, add a small fang peeking from his lip.

Step 3: Build the Upper Body and Spiky Hair

Here, you block in the big shapes. Start with the wild hair spikes, then the shoulders, vest, and arms.

I added a high collar, a zipper vial necklace, and cross earrings. These small details make him feel like a vampire.

If you want to draw Goku easy, think in triangles for the hair and boxes for the shoulders. Therefore, it never feels overwhelming.

Step 4: Clean Up With Lineart

Now trace over your sketch with confident, smooth lines. In fact, this is the step that makes your goku sketch drawing look professional.

Tip: Use Thicker Lines on the Outside

Thicker outer lines and thinner inner lines add depth.

Step 5: Choose Your Color Palette

Before coloring, pick your colors. I used crimson red, ice blue, soft blue, deep teal, navy, maroon, off white, and warm brown.

I switched my lineart to brown. As a result, the whole piece feels softer and more unified.

Step 6: Add the Flat Base Colors

Fill each area with one flat color. Use pale blue for the skin, navy for the hair, teal for the vest, and red for the accents.

Red eyes and red buttons tie everything together.

Step 7: Shade and Finish With a Red Background

Finally, add shadows with darker tones and highlights with lighter ones. Then add a red gradient background so he pops off the screen.

That’s it. You now know how to draw Dragon Ball Z Goku with a vampire twist.
